THE TELEPHONE HELPLINE IS STAFFED MONDAY-FRIDAY 9.30AM-4.30PM (CLOSED BANK HOLIDAYS) AND CAN PROVIDE INFORMATION, SIGNPOSTING, SUPPORTIVE LISTENING, FINANCE AND BENEFITS SUPPORT AND MACMILLAN GRANT APPLICATIONS. COUNSELLING AND GUIDED RELAXATION SERVICES ARE OFFERED VIA TELEPHONE. Located at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood, the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre offers a relaxing, peaceful environment for people affected by cancer to seek information and support about all aspects of the disease: from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. The welcoming drop-in centre is staffed by healthcare professionals and volunteers and provides a friendly place to talk and ask questions. Services also include a telephone helpline, complementary therapy, relaxation classes, counselling and welfare benefits advice as well as details of local self-help courses and support groups.The centre also hosts Look Good Feel Better beauty workshops and headwear workshops.
