Local Cancer Information Centre
Our service offers accessible information as well as emotional, practical and financial support for anyone affected by cancer. We provide a listening ear service, run various support groups, signpost and refer to other services such as for benefits help, grants, Blue Badges, home adaptations and counselling. We liaise with other agencies on behalf of the patient, such as to help with housing/work/education/carers support. We also run various courses to support people’s wellbeing and self-management and these are ‘First Steps’ for recently diagnosed patients and family members; ‘HOPE’ to help manage the stress of cancer; ‘Thinking Ahead’ our programme for patients with incurable cancer and ‘End of Treatment Events’ to help people move forward with a healthy lifestyle after cancer treatment. Please contact us for support or to sign up to our monthly newsletter. Find out more at our Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust website or download our free ‘CHFT Cancer Support’ App.
