The story so far

Macmillan is transforming to adapt to the changing world around us. We’re shaping our future with the people and communities we’re here to serve. We’ve been gathering and reviewing insight from inside and outside of Macmillan to help us decide - what is Macmillan’s vision for the future?

We asked you to share your views 

We’ve spoken to people with lived experience of cancer, our colleagues, professionals, volunteers and partners. So far, you’ve you told us you want the Macmillan of the future to:

  • Have the unique needs of every individual person with cancer at its heart
  • Focus on making cancer care equal and accessible for everyone
  • Work better with partners

Where we are now

Your feedback has also given us four big questions we need to answer to help decide where Macmillan should focus in the future to make the biggest difference to people with cancer:

  • How can we be more active in trying to change and improve the healthcare system in which people with cancer receive care?
  • How can we work better and more closely with communities, particularly marginalised communities who tend to experience the most severe forms of inequalities in healthcare?
  • Could we achieve more for people with cancer by being more focused?
  • How can we be a louder advocate for and with people with cancer?

What we're doing next

In early 2024, we’ll review all our insights and decide how Macmillan is going to evolve to be fit for the future so that we can do whatever it takes for people with cancer for years to come.
