Fiona's background
Fiona Cowie is senior medical editor at Macmillan for information about primary bone cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. She did her undergraduate training at University College Hospital London, then following postgraduate medical training and an MD in paediatric sarcoma drug resistance at the Royal Marsden, she trained as a clinical oncologist in Glasgow.
She went on to specialise in management of adults with Sarcoma and Paediatric Radiotherapy at The Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow, where she has been a consultant since 2000. As well as this she is involved in the long term follow up of childhood cancer survivors. Since 2022 she has been a trustee for Sarcoma UK.
