Dr Lisa Pickering
Lisa's background
Lisa Pickering is senior medical editor at Macmillan for information about cancers affecting the bladder, kidneys and urinary system. She gained her medical degree in 1995. She trained in Medical Oncology in London and has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist since 2008.
She worked at both St George’s and the Royal Marsden until 2019, when she became full time at the Royal Marsden. In March 2020, she was appointed to the faculty of the Institute of Cancer Research and to the role of Associate Medical Director for Strategy at the Royal Marsden.
Her major interest is in improving the outcome of kidney and skin cancers, especially the development of new treatments. She is a member of the UK National Research Groups for kidney and bladder cancers. She has been involved in more than 70 clinical trials, including as Principle and Chief Investigator.
