Macmillan and parkrun partnership
At Macmillan, we are excited to be an official charity partner of parkrun UK which offers local communities a free and inclusive 5km event.
A key aim of our partnership is to raise awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support in local communities, because wherever you are, we’re doing whatever it takes to support people living with cancer.
How can Macmillan help?
We're here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can. Whether you need help paying bills, advice on benefits or treatment, or just want to chat, find out about the different ways we can help. If you have cancer, we’ll do whatever it takes to support you. Your treatment, how you’re feeling, your money and your work.
What is the Macmillan and parkrun partnership?
We are committed to working with parkrun over the next few years to help them grow their community whilst also raising awareness of our services and how we support people living with cancer, from the point of diagnosis.
We are proud to be a partner of parkrun – an organisation which promotes inclusivity, the benefits of physical activity and a community atmosphere as all events are organised by volunteers.
We want all parkrunners and their loved ones to know they can turn to us for support if they are affected by cancer, now or in the future.
What is parkrun?
parkrun offers local communities a free and inclusive 5km event – you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. 5k parkrun events take place weekly on Saturday mornings at over 750 locations across the UK, and junior parkrun (2k events dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families) take place at more than 350 locations every Sunday morning. Everyone is welcome and no-one finishes last.
To participate in a parkrun, as a walker, runner or volunteer, you’ll need to register first.
