How Coffee Morning helps
Every Coffee Morning makes a difference
By taking part in Coffee Morning, you will join tens of thousands of people across the UK raising money to support people living with cancer.
Because of people like you, we can continue to be there for everyone who needs us from the moment they are diagnosed, through treatment and beyond. No matter what their situation.
Your fundraising means we can help with the things that matter the most to people affected by cancer. This includes support through treatment from our amazing Macmillan nurses. Help with money and the extra and unexpected costs that living with cancer can bring. Or emotional support through the Macmillan Support Line. And so much more.
By taking part in this year's Coffee Morning, you can help us to do whatever it takes for people living with cancer.
Coffee Morning funds support those living with cancer
Macmillan Cancer Support is 98% funded by donations. Every single penny raised really does make a difference.
Jenny's story
After finding a lump in her breast, Jenny (pictured) was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas in 2020.
She was supported by one of our Macmillan Welfare Rights advisors, Debbie, who helped her to secure a Macmillan Grant and financial support.
Jenny said: "She’s literally done everything for me when it comes to applying for extra financial support. If Debbie hadn’t told me about the grant, I would have had to struggle especially because everything happened so quickly."
Jenny hosted her own Coffee Morning in the bakery where she worked to raise money for Macmillan.
Alan's story
In 2010, Alan was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
In the video, Alan talks about being supported by Macmillan during his cancer experience and how he turned his Coffee Morning into a fabulous Cocktail Evening.
Alan said: "People should do a Coffee Morning or a cocktail coffee evening because Macmillan really helped me out when I was really ill."
Debbie's story
Debbie (pictured) called the Macmillan Support Line after she received her ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2021.
Debbie said: "Macmillan gave us so much emotional support during the first few months after diagnosis."
Prior to her cancer diagnosis, Debbie hosted Coffee Mornings in the school where she worked.
More recently she held her Coffee Morning in the street where she lives, bringing together her community and raising even more to help support people living with cancer.
Thank you, Debbie, you Coffee Morning super host!
