You can't go wrong with an Easter egg hunt. Hide the eggs in your local park or garden, if you have one. We recommend putting your Easter eggs within plastic eggs to protect dogs from eating them.

Make some fabulous Easter decorations.

Egg decorating

Get creative by decorating eggs. BBC Good Food has tips on how to prepare the eggs before decorating them. You can paint them or jazz them up with feathers, glitter, and sequins. Once you're done pop them in an old egg box. As an alternative, you can use polystyrene eggs.

Buy a decorative Easter tree online or make your own and hang eggs on the branches. It will have the added benefit of brightening up your home.

Egg and spoon race

Hold an egg and spoon race and suggest a donation of £1 to enter. You could also arrange a parents' race as well as a child's one. If you want to make a big event out of it, you could organise an Easter fair and have different stalls.

Easter cake bake sale

Organise a bake sale with Easter-themed treats such as hot cross buns and Easter bunny biscuits. You can host a raffle alongside this and get people to buy raffle tickets when they purchase cake.

Guess the number of eggs

Fill a large sweet jar with mini eggs. Get pupils to pay one pound to guess the number of eggs. The closest guess wins all the eggs!

Approach local retailers to donate chocolate and eggs. 'Sell' them at your Easter fair for a suggested donation.
