About this guide
We want everyone living with cancer to get the support and inspiration they need to be physically active, in a way that's right for them.
This document builds on extensive research and evidence from Macmillan’s work with pilot physical activity behaviour change projects. It aims to:
- provide decision makers with the evidence
for integrating physical activity into
cancer care
- describe effective intervention models
- demonstrate the connection to national
policy and targets
- outline the economic implications of
investing in physical activity for people
living with cancer
- enable providers to decide on the right
model and to implement it effectively as an
integrated part of cancer care.
This guide is designed to be read in conjunction with Physical activity and cancer: the underrated wonderdrug.
