Where and when does HYROX take place?
HYROX is a global fitness race with events in over 11 countries and 30 cities. Events are scheduled throughout the year and usually take place in large indoor exhibition halls.
To find a HYROX event near you, visit the Find My Race page on the HYROX website.
-
Do I need to train specifically for HYROX?
While HYROX is designed to be a Fitness Race for Every Body, it is still important to train in strength and endurance.
To find out more on how to train specifically for HYROX, please visit the event preparation page on their website. HYROX recommend that you train in a HYROX partner gym where possible.
To find a Partner Gym, you can use HYROX’s Partner Gym Finder.

What are the different divisions?
Open – take on the standard HYROX for a challenging but achievable race for everyone.
Pro – for the experienced racer, heavier weights make for a more challenging experience.
Doubles – find a partner and take on the challenge as a pair, running together but splitting the workload of the exercises.
Relay – come together with your friends or family and race the relay where each member of the team does 2 times 1 km and 2 workouts.
To find the right division for you complete this questionnaire!
We have Macmillan places in the open and doubles divisions, but you can register to join Team Macmillan in any division. Simply click the ‘I have my own place’ button.

Fundraising support FAQs
-
How much do I have to fundraise?
If you have a Macmillan Charity Place, your fundraising target is £400 excluding gift aid. This is per person for solo and doubles, so if you are registered as a team for doubles, your team target will be £800.
If you are using your own place to fundraise, there is no minimum pledge. -
How can I set up a fundraising page?
For events from Glasgow 2025 onwards, you will be automatically set up with a fundraising page when you personalise your ticket.
If you have a general rather than charity admission into the event, or if you are taking part in HYROX Manchester 2025, you can set up a fundraising page by visiting JustGiving, selecting Macmillan Cancer Support as your chosen charity, and selecting your HYROX event from the list.
The money you raise is then transferred directly to us.
If you set up a fundraising page using a different email to the one you used to sign up to HYROX, please email to let us know at fitnesschallenge@macmillan.org.uk. -
How can I fundraise as a team?
For events from HYROX Glasgow 2025 onwards, you’ll be automatically set up with an individual fundraising page when you personalise your ticket.
If you’d like to fundraise as a Team, you can select the ‘Create a team’ option and invite others to join. You can find full guidance on Just Giving’s webpage:
A guide to Team Pages – JustGiving Help
Please note, if you have a Charity Place, your team’s minimum pledge is £400 x the number of team members. So, if you are a team of 2, your joint target is £800. -
Will I lose my HYROX place if I don't reach my pledge?
Your HYROX place will never be affected by your fundraising. We ask that you do your best to ensure as much money raised as possible goes towards supporting people living with cancer.
On the day FAQs
-
When and how do I find out my race time?
HYROX will inform you of your exact start time by email on the Wednesday before the event. Start times are also available via: https://startlist.hyrox.com/ in approximately 3 days out from the event. Please note, divisions are divided into individual start waves and so have different start times.
It is recommended that you arrive at the venue at least 90 minutes before you start.
You will also receive an email from HYROX 3 weeks before your event informing you of the timeslots for each division to allow you to plan your arrival and departure in advance.
Information on check-ins, ceremonies, division start times, and the venue map will also be added onto the event page. -
How do I buy spectator tickets?
Spectator tickets can be purchased online on the event page of the HYROX website under ‘Register Now’ or on-site on event day. On-site tickets subject to availability and purchasable by debit card only.
It’s highly recommended that spectator tickets are purchased well in advance of the event to avoid missing out. Macmillan is unable to obtain spectator tickets once tickets sell out.
Children under 12 do not require a ticket but must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. -
How much are spectator tickets?
Spectator tickets are £15/€15 per day or £25/€25 for days 1 and 2.
