About the Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike
The Giant’s Causeway Mighty Hike will get your heart pumping as you set off from Ballycastle and tackle the cliff tops! But with each climb, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views including Rathlin Island, before making your way towards the iconic Giant’s Causeway and beautiful beaches in Portrush.
Hike solo and meet friends along the way or sign up with a team of friends and family for a memorable day together.

When and where does Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike start and finish?
The full and half marathons will start at Larrybane Quarry, BT54 6LS.
The half marathon finishes at Bushmills Football pitch, BT57 8SD. The full marathon finishes at Ulster University, BT52 1SA.
The full marathon waves will start every 20 minutes from 06:30, and the half marathon waves will start every 20 minutes from 09:10.

What is the Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike route?
The Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike begins just beyond Ballintoy, you'll journey along the coastline, passing by ancient castle ruins and the world-renowned Giant's Causeway. For those tackling the half marathon, the route will take you to the charming village of Bushmills, while the full marathon adventure continues along the coast, veering inland at Portrush and finishing at Ulster University.

Please note that the routes can be subject to change following health and safety inspections. Any key changes will be communicated on the day.

Where should I stay for the Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike?
All parking for this event is at Ulster University so we recommend staying in Coleraine for a short journey to the start line. It is then less than a 10 minute drive from Coleraine to the university.

How do I get there?
Parking for our full and half marathon hikers is at Ulster University, BT52 1SA.
Free shuttle buses will run to the start line in the morning of the hike. There will also be free shuttle buses from the half marathon finish line to the car park in the afternoon.
Please note, for this event we close the B15 through Ballintoy heading into Larrybane Quarry from the east for the safety of our participants hiking. This means you are not able to get dropped off at the start line of this hike. Please ensure you have this built into your travel plans.
You can book parking and shuttle buses when you register.
