Francesca's role
Francesca is responsible for empowering and enabling colleagues and volunteers, driving a sense of belonging and delivering a uniquely brilliant Macmillan experience that is aligned with Macmillan’s Values.
She delivers impactful workforce planning to ensure Macmillan have the skills and capabilities needed to deliver for people living with cancer, now and in the future. She is responsible for embedding equity, diversity and inclusion across Macmillan to ensure that all Macmillan colleagues and volunteers feel represented and included.
Francesca leads our People and Culture Directorate, a skilled team of experts whose work helps Macmillan develop the workforce for the future and enables all employees to thrive.
Francesca is passionate about sparking a culture of curiosity to inspire Macmillan to do better every day – putting people living with cancer at the centre of all.
Career and credentials
Francesca joined Macmillan in August 2024. She was previously Chief People and Culture Officer at an Integrated Care Board.
With experience of delivering successful transformation programmes and building inclusive cultures, Francesca has held similar roles in a range of other large health organisations including Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

The non-work stuff
Francesca is passionate about tennis and is a regular at Wimbledon. She is a fan of Liverpool football club and regularly travels to Anfield to watch matches. She has an eclectic taste in music ranging from Abba to Ed Sheeran with a bit of Prince thrown in for good measure.
